Senior Digital Project Manager

Summary of role

We are seeking a Senior Digital Project Manager to join our growing digital agency. This role is suited to an experienced delivery lead who can confidently own complex digital programmes across Shopify, Strapi and other web applications, while acting as a trusted partner to both clients and internal teams.

You will take full ownership of projects from discovery through to delivery and post-launch optimisation. As a senior member of the delivery team, you’ll be responsible not just for execution, but for shaping delivery processes, mentoring project managers, and ensuring projects are delivered profitably, on time and to a high standard.

You’ll bring a strong understanding of structured waterfall delivery, with the ability to apply agile principles pragmatically where appropriate. If you are commercially aware, client-confident, and passionate about delivering high-quality digital work, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects and programmes, from initial scoping and discovery through to launch and ongoing optimisation.
• Act as the senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and providing clear leadership, guidance and expectation management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and contribute to project scoping, technical discovery, estimates, timelines and statements of work.
• Create, maintain and govern detailed project plans, budgets, resourcing models, risk registers and delivery roadmaps.
• Oversee delivery across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment between design, development, content, QA and third-party partners.
• Run and oversee planning sessions, stand-ups, milestone reviews and retrospectives using Jira.
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies and scope changes, ensuring commercial impact is understood and communicated clearly.
• Ensure robust QA and UAT processes are in place, supporting teams and clients through testing and sign-off.
• Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasting and margin, escalating risks where required.
• Support the smooth transition from project delivery into retainers, support or ongoing optimisation phases.
• Mentor and support mid-weight and junior project managers, contributing to best practices, templates and ways of working.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of agency delivery processes, tools and standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in digital project management within an agency or similar environment.
• Proven experience delivering complex website, e-commerce and web application projects.
• Strong experience delivering Shopify projects, with a good understanding of modern e-commerce builds and integrations.
• Confident and advanced user of Jira for project tracking, reporting and delivery governance.
• Deep understanding of waterfall project delivery, with practical experience applying agile principles where appropriate.
• Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to lead conversations at a senior stakeholder level.
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, forecasts and project profitability.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects.
• Solid understanding of UX/UI, development workflows, technical constraints and digital best practices.
• Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with external partners or vendors.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to take ownership, challenge assumptions and drive projects forward.
