Time4sleep

Challenge

Since 2006, Time4Sleep has been offering beautiful beds, comfy mattresses and stylish furniture to its online customers at great value prices. Due to sustained growth, the business committed to a purpose-built storage facility located away from its Elland headquarters – and needed a custom-created stock management solution to aid its product allocation, stock picking and shipping processes. Ultimately, its incumbent Magento ecommerce store had become unfit for purpose too.

As a consequence of client-specific constraints relating to product transportation and the physical form of its warehouse – not to mention the non-negotiable requirement that first-rate customer experience should prevail – we were asked to devise an all-new solution with multiple third-party integrations relating to multi-channel sales, payment, distribution and internal/external communications.

Solution

Our team designed and custom-built a lightweight and highly-extendable website using Symfony, abandoning Magento and instead moving to a solution that was not only intuitive at all user touchpoints but highly-streamlined for this broader and more sophisticated purpose.

Of particular note was the provision of a purpose-built admin area to centralise Time4Sleep’s order and customer management functions.

Result

Time4Sleep’s owners, employees and customers all benefit from a seamless and highly-effective system that facilitates all aspects of the business:

  • By creating a lightweight storefront that doesn’t use sessions, its customers enjoy a fast and efficient user experience
  • Integration with Klarna permits customers to pay more flexibly
  • Orders are processed faster and more efficiently; stock control is new reliable and robust
  • Linnworks integration permits Time4Sleep to reach additional customer audiences such as Wayfair, Etsy and Amazon
  • Alternative transport solutions have been integrated to permit cheaper delivery for smaller product items without the need to introduce new processes
  • Klaviyo has been utilised to send automatic email notifications relating to dropped baskets and customer reviews.

"Operating in a fiercely competitive market and with ambition to further advance our business, we needed a new end-to-end solution to aid and streamline our business processes. The Northern Artillery team really took the time to understand the detail of our operation and the end result of their work is a system that seamlessly links the entire process, from order creation right through to customer aftercare. The efficiencies we have gained has enabled us to scale our operation with minimal need to expand our team whilst delivering even greater value to our customers. As well as being a great bunch of people to work with, what sets Northern Artillery apart is their ability to combine great design with commercial acumen and technical expertise."
